The Gainesville Christian Community Warriors couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 45-35 to Victory Christian Academy on Tuesday.
Victory Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Christian Sutton, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. Matthew Sutherin was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 9 rebounds.
Gainesville Christian Community's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Victory Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gainesville Christian Community will challenge First Assembly Christian Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully First Assembly Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Thursday. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Southside Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Southside Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
