Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Edgewood Academy Wildcats walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Cougars on Wednesday as they made off with a 54-28 victory. Edgewood Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 contests by 22 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Lindsey Brown, who scored 25 points along with six steals and five rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Madison Martin was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
The victory was the 11th in a row for Edgewood Academy, bringing their record for this year to 27-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for Southern Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 16-3.
Edgewood Academy will face off against Sparta Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Edgewood Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Wednesday. Southern Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
