Adena has won three straight games at home, while Unioto has won three straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Warriors will host the Shermans at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Adena will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Paint Valley, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Warriors came out on top against the Bearcats by a score of 27-19 on Friday.
Meanwhile, Unioto got themselves on the board against Piketon on Friday, but Piketon never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Redstreaks 47-0. Fans of the Shermans have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Adena better keep an eye on Cody Braden. He was instrumental in Unioto's win, rushing for 159 yards and three scores on only 13 carries. Braden's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Levi Beam made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Unioto's run defense was locked in: Piketon could only muster two yards per carry. While seven picked up at least three total tackles, Braden stood above the rest. He rushed for 159 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries. That's the most yards per carry they've posted since back in October of 2024.
Unioto didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Judah Zickafoose, Brayden Harsha, and Beam picked up one apiece. Beam got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Unioto's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Adena, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Adena took a serious blow against Unioto in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 35-0. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Braden, who rushed for 84 yards and three touchdowns. Now that the Warriors know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
