The Gooding Senators will head out on the road to face off against the American Falls Beavers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Gooding has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while American Falls will arrive with five straight victories.
Two weeks ago, Gooding came up short against Weiser and fell 63-50. While losing is never fun, Gooding can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Weiser is ranked 33rd).
Even though American Falls has not done well against Aberdeen recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. American Falls strolled past Aberdeen with points to spare, taking the game 53-37.
Gooding's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for American Falls, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1.
Gooding came up short against American Falls in their previous matchup back in February, falling 60-49. Can Gooding avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
