The Choctawhatchee Indians won the last time they faced the West Florida Jaguars, and things went their way on Monday too. Choctawhatchee managed a 44-38 win over West Florida. Given Choctawhatchee's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while West Florida is ranked 216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, West Florida saw an underclassman step up: Amani (AB) Bartholomew dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. Bartholomew is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shania Beeks, who scored eight points along with six assists.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Choctawhatchee will challenge Navarre at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
