The Alak Huskies took care of business in their home opener on Saturday (barely). In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 41-40 victory over Kali. That's another feather in the cap for Alak, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alak to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mabel Aguvluk, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Nicole Nayakik, who scored 12 points.
Alak pushed their record up to 1-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Kali, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Alak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kali also has no future games currently scheduled.
