The Oswayo Valley Green Wave's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 11th straight loss. They were outmatched by Otto-Eldred at home and fell 85-25. While losing is never fun, Oswayo Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 728th, while Otto-Eldred is ranked 160th).
Despite the loss, Oswayo Valley still got an impressive performance from Connor Resig, who scored seven points.
Oswayo Valley dropped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.4 points per game. As for Otto-Eldred, their win bumped their record up to 14-1.
Oswayo Valley will head out on the road to take on Smethport at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Smethport is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Otto-Eldred, they will be playing at home against Cameron County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cameron County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
