The St. Paul Catholic Falcons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with an 80-67 win over Windsor Locks. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Windsor Locks lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sincere Monroe. Despite the final result, he scored 33 points along with three steals. Monroe scored a full 49.3% of Windsor Locks' points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Grasso, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
St. Paul Catholic pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Windsor Locks, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-1.
St. Paul Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Waterbury Career Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Waterbury Career Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past six games -- so hopefully St. Paul Catholic likes a good challenge. As for Windsor Locks, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Coventry at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Coventry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Windsor Locks is ranked 29th).
