After losing to Chesaning the last time they met, Valley Lutheran decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Chargers walked away with  a   12-8  win over the Indians  on Wednesday. The  victory was just business as usual for the Chargers, who after three games remain undefeated  this season.
 Axel Schuette and  Jacob Grimpo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing,  Schuette   struck out seven batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and six unearned) runs off   four  hits. Meanwhile,  Grimpo   pitched one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. At the plate,  Schuette  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI and one  double, while  Grimpo  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 In other batting news,  Ryan Pittman and  Ben Diener did most of the damage at the plate:  Pittman  scored four  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances, while  Diener  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-5.
 Valley Lutheran  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least eight  hits every time they've taken the field this season.
Valley Lutheran's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Chesaning, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the  defeat, which was their third straight  at home.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley Lutheran will take on Hemlock at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Chesaning, they will square off against Lakeville at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. This will  be the Indians' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
