After having lost a blowout to New London in their previous game, H-L-V was happy to find some success on Friday. H-L-V were fully in charge, breezing past Montezuma 58-20. The success represented a nice turnaround for H-L-V, who in their last game suffered a tough 16-51 loss.
H-L-V's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 24 points in the first half. Montezuma came up with 6 to make it 24-6 heading into the break. The offense for H-L-V continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 34 points. The win got they back to even at 1-1. The defeat dropped Montezuma's record to 0-2.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. H-L-V will look to defend their home turf next week against Lone Tree at 7:00 PM. Keep an eye on the score for this one : both teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up. As for Montezuma, they will face off against Winfield-Mt. Union.
