Jackson and Westside are an even 3-3 against one another since October of 2015, but not for long. The Red Devils will head out to face off against the Seminoles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 47-17, which was the final score in Jackson's tilt against Callaway on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 100th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Danarri Brown, who rushed for 80 yards and one TD on only seven carries, and also caught one score. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 71 yards.

Jackson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dondre Mulligan and Torrie Pinkins. Mulligan is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last three games he's played.
Westside fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 16-14 win over Rutland on Friday.
Jackson better focus on containing Jaiden Stephens and Kaleb Blount as the pair were huge in Westside's win. Stephens rushed for 111 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries, while Blount rushed for 94 yards and one TD. Those 94 rushing yards gave Blount a new career-high.
Westside was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 252 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 61.8 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five contests they've averaged 227.
This is the second loss in a row for Jackson and nudges their season record down to 3-6. As for Westside, their record now sits at an identical 3-6.
Jackson came up short against Westside in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, falling 29-23. Thankfully for the Red Devils, Kadiphius Iverson (who rushed for 221 yards and four scores) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
