Make it 13 blowout wins for the Fairland Dragons this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat South Point 74-36 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-25.
Fairland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bailey Russell led the charge by scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Russell continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bree Allen, who scored 15 points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
The win was the fifth in a row for Fairland, bringing their record for this year to 16-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for South Point, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
Fairland will look to defend their home court on Monday against Chesapeake at 7:30 p.m. As for South Point, they will head out on the road to take on Gallia Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
