The Amesbury Redhawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 62-43 bruising from Ipswich. Amesbury was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Ipswich apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Amesbury's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Celia Tavares, who scored 13 points. Ellie Marden was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Amesbury has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Ipswich, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Amesbury will look to defend their home court on Monday against Essex Tech at 6:30 p.m. Essex Tech is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Ipswich, they will head out on the road to challenge North Reading at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
