Kaplan is 2-8 against Abbeville since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Kaplan Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Abbeville Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Kaplan is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
Kaplan suffered their biggest loss since November 20, 2023 on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 74-29 loss at the hands of Lake Arthur.
Meanwhile, Abbeville ended up a good deal behind St. Martinville on Friday and lost 64-49. While losing is never fun, Abbeville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 327th, while St. Martinville is ranked 152nd).
Kaplan bumped their record down to 5-17 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Abbeville, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-17.
Kaplan took a serious blow against Abbeville in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 83-35. Can Kaplan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
