It was a good run, but The Benedictine Cadets unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 36-7 loss at the hands of Trinity Episcopal. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Benedictine in their matchups with Trinity Episcopal: they've now lost five in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trinity Episcopal to victory, but perhaps none more so than Davion "fatrat" Brown, who rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also picked up 49 receiving yards. Trey Grant and his 144 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Trinity Episcopal's victory.
Benedictine's defeat dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Trinity Episcopal, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benedictine will take on St. Christopher's at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Christopher's will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 41st, while Benedictine is ranked first). As for Trinity Episcopal, they will be playing at home against Flint Hill at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Flint Hill is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
