Basketball Recap: Forestview Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Forestview had won two straight home games and Sa'Ryah McCorkle did her part to make it three on Thursday. The Forestview Jaguars enjoyed a cozy 65-51 victory over the Cherryville Ironmen thanks in part to McCorkle, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played.

Another player making a difference was Priscilla Iyevbele, who posted 13 points and three steals. Those 13 points gave her a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Cherryville had strong showings from Emily Allen, who went 9 of 21 on her way to 22 points and four steals, and Raylei Gidney, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 boards.

Forestview's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Cherryville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season.

Forestview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-47 defeat against Bandys on the 27th. As for Cherryville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 41-24 loss against West Lincoln on the 27th.
