Philadelphia Public - AA recap September 17, 2013
Delaware Valley Charter scaled the state rankings by moving to 307 from 362 this week, the biggest jump in Philadelphia Public - AA. Delaware Valley Charter was able to make move up by topping Archbishop Carroll 20-13.
Imhotep Charter was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league. Earlier in the week, the Panthers defeated Roxborough 46-0.
Andre Dreuitt and Tyliek Raynor gave Imhotep Charter a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Dreuitt threw for 143 yards and 3 touchdowns, while Raynor ran for 78 yards. Teammate Nasir Bonner added to the ground attack by rushing for 61 yards.
Dreuitt and Raynor gave Al Crosby's team a balanced attack through the air and ground last week.
Vian Dolo was a passing and rushing force as Prep Charter fell to Interboro. He completed 8 passes for 181 yards and also ran for 18 yards. Dolo's key target this week was Curan Simmons, who caught 5 passes for 111 yards.
Dreuitt put up the best numbers in passing as the Panthers defeated the Indians. Dreuitt's favorite target this week was Denniston 'DJ' Moore, who caught 3 passes for 68 yards.
He went 8-11 with 1 interceptions.
Simmons was the best receiver in the league this week as Prep Charter fell to the Buccaneers.
Raynor was the best running back in Philadelphia Public - AA this week.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, David Hand's team's Dolo and Simmons have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Dolo has thrown for 546 yards this season, while Simmons has 14 catches for 350 yards. Bonner from Imhotep Charter leads the league in rushing with 263 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Prep Charter takes on Roxborough. At the moment, Prep Charter is in third, while Clifton Hubbard Jr.'s team is in second.
The Indians fell to the Panthers 46-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
