Mars has been on the road for two straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Moon Area Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mars knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matchups -- so hopefully Moon Area likes a good challenge.
Last Sunday, Mars beat Erie 57-50. 57 seems to be a good number for Mars as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mars to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ryan Ceh, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Ceh is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 12 games he's played. Austin Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Moon Area waltzed into their matchup on Friday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They took down West Allegheny 58-42. Given Moon Area's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while West Allegheny is ranked 178th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mars has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Moon Area, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
Mars couldn't quite finish off Moon Area when the teams last played back in February of 2023 and fell 63-60. Can Mars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
