The Stone Bridge Bulldogs have taken off where they left off after winning the Liberty District last season.
On Monday night they faced Robinson and improved to 4-0 after defeating the Rams in four games by scores of 25-20, 20-25, 25-22, and 25-21.
“Robinson is a good team, and they were the first team to take us to four games this season,” junior Jenny Lewandrowski said.”
The team feels that they’ve got a very good chance to repeat as District champions.
“We have a promising team, and we think we’re going to do well this year,” Lewandrowski said.
Stone Bridge won the first game 25-20, before losing the second 20-25. They came back strong to win the fourth and the fifth game.
The team was led by Christine Beckham, who finished the game with 10 kills, 10 digs, and six points, and Amanda Miller who had 34 assists, 13 points, three aces, and 12 digs. Lindsay Gill had 21 digs, 12 points, and two aces. Leading blocks was Alex Heyn, who finished with four.
