The Bridges Prep Buccaneers will square off against the Barnwell Warhorses at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Bridges Prep 3.6, Barnwell 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Bridges Prep took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Thomas Heyward Academy by a score of 9-4.
Tavin Almendarez was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Layton Tillotson looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.

Back at the plate, Dakari Greene was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Connor Jones, who scored three runs while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Barnwell). They blew past Colleton County 16-1 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
The team relied heavily on Cameron Austin, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Case Davis was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Bridges Prep pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Barnwell, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
