George C. Marshall hasn't had much luck against Langley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Statesmen will be playing at home against the Saxons at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Helen Kluesener spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Lindsey Manifor, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and three runs. That home run was her first of the season. Mikka Christensen was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Langley brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They put the hurt on Washington-Liberty with a sharp 10-1 victory on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Saxons as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Norah Jacques made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. Jacques was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Caitlin Hohenthaner was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ali Glantzis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
George C. Marshall's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Langley, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
George C. Marshall might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Langley in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Statesmen have more luck at home instead of on the road?
