Council Grove is 0-7 against Sacred Heart since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Council Grove Braves will get right back to it and host the Sacred Heart Knights at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On Thursday, Council Grove was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 61-55 to Halstead.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Finn Gant, who scored eight points along with four steals. Kolby Rose was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart strolled past Concordia with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 55-39. Given Sacred Heart's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Concordia is ranked 109th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Council Grove now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Sacred Heart, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2.
