The San Marin Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Windsor Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. San Marin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
San Marin barely beat Rancho Cotate the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs blew past the Cougars 11-1 on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on three straight.

Taylor Testa made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Sammy Low was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Leah Cronin, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
San Marin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rancho Cotate only managed four.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Windsor, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Piner by a score of 10-5 on Thursday. The Jaguars haven't had any issues with the Prospectors recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Paige Johnson tossed a big game, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits.
At the plate, Windsor let Evalina Marquez and Haeli Bruno run wild. Marquez went 1-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double, while Bruno went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was Bruno's first of the season. Lexi Falk was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
The victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 4-5. As for San Marin, their record is now 7-3.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. San Marin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .375. However, it's not like Windsor struggles in that department as they've averaged .316. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
San Marin skirted past Windsor 6-5 when the teams last played back in March of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
