Rockwood took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Windber 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rockets have posted since April 25, 2024.
Carson Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out eight batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Davis Bruening, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eli Show, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Tussey Mountain put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 19-1 margin over Southern Huntingdon County. Fans of the Titans have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Like Rockwood, Tussey Mountain also got a great game from a two-way player: Landon Myers. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Myers was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, Tussey Mountain got a massive performance out of Ben Kormanski, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Connor Jones was another key player, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs.
Tussey Mountain's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Rockwood, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
