In what's become a running theme this season, the Gilbert Indians gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 65-23 victory over Brookland-Cayce. The win was just what Gilbert needed coming off of a 53-16 loss in their prior matchup.
Gilbert was led to victory by Blythe Price and Ahleira Leaphart. Price dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, while Leaphart scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Price has scored all season. Anabel Godfrey was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Gilbert is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Brookland-Cayce, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-9.
Gilbert will take on Dreher at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dreher is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Brookland-Cayce, they will head out on the road to challenge Swansea at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Swansea is ranked 200th, while Brookland-Cayce is ranked 190th).
