The Sunnyside Blue Devils won the last time they faced the Kofa Kings, and things went their way on Saturday too. Sunnyside strolled past Kofa with points to spare, taking the game 66-48.
Sunnyside got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaac Ramirez out in front who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ramirez has scored all season. Isaac Moreno Leyva was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six assists.
The win got Sunnyside back to even at 9-9. As for Kofa, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sunnyside will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Buena at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. One thing working in Buena's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests. Kofa will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Buckeye at 3:00 p.m. on January 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Buckeye is ranked 169th, while Kofa is ranked 178th).
