Fike has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Seventy-First Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Fike had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against Currituck County by a score of 37-25.
Bud Woodard had a dynamite game for Fike, rushing for 330 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry, and also picking up 49 receiving yards. Woodard's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.
Another reason for the win was Fike's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Yamir DaGraca and Jamari Hill who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Seventy-First stacked a 11th blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. Everything went their way against Williams as Seventy-First made off with a 40-20 victory. Seventy-First's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
It was another big night for Deandre Nance, who rushed for 204 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Jayson Franklin and his 103 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Seventy-First's victory.
Fike is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Seventy-First, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record.
