The Palmer Moose are taking a road trip to challenge the Monroe Catholic Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Palmer is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Wasilla, who was ranked eighth at the time (Palmer was ranked seventh). The Moose put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 11-1 win on Tuesday. Considering the Moose have won six games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Timothy Bridgman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Monroe Catholic waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hawks a 36-0 shutout. That 36-run margin sets a new team best for the Rams this season.
Like Palmer, Monroe Catholic also got a great game from a two-way player: Max Yost. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Yost also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Monroe Catholic is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-5-1 otherwise. Yost was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, Monroe Catholic got a massive performance out of Brian Bast, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The Rams are 4-1 when Bast posts two or more stolen bases, but 0-5-1 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Snow, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with six runs, three stolen bases, and one RBI.
Monroe Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .755. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .531 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Palmer's record now sits at 6-4. As for Monroe Catholic, their record is now 4-6-1.
Everything went Palmer's way against Monroe Catholic when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Palmer made off with a 9-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Moose since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
