The Hot Springs Savage Heat's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell 54-44 to Two Eagle River. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hot Springs in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Two Eagle River to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josiah Long, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Long pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jabez Madplume, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Hot Springs dropped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Two Eagle River, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Hot Springs will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Two Eagle River and the Savage Heat are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
