The Circle Christian Centurions will face off against the Orlando Christian Prep Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Circle Christian will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Altamonte Christian on Monday. Circle Christian blew past Altamonte Christian 19-9.
DJ Williams made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he also posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, James Stalions was incredible, going a perfect4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Grant Lion also deserves some recognition as he hit his first hits of the season.
Circle Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Orlando Christian Prep had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by a 9-3 margin over Lake Mary Prep. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Griffins recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Like Circle Christian, Orlando Christian Prep also got a great game from a two-way player: Carter Reis. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and only a hit while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. What's more, Reis also gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jorge Martinez, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Brayden Schuster was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
The win got Circle Christian back to even at 2-2. As for Orlando Christian Prep, their record is now 1-0.
