On Wednesday, the West Warwick Wizards faced the Smithfield Sentinels in a battle between two of the state's top teams. West Warwick walked away with a 43-33 win over Smithfield. The win made it back-to-back wins for West Warwick.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Warwick to victory, but perhaps none more so than Calla Davide, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Michelle Motta, who scored eight points.
Smithfield lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Amelia McCreight, who scored six points. Krista Kasbarian was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
West Warwick has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Smithfield, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-7.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Prout the next time they take the court. Smithfield will host Prout at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while West Warwick will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
