Southside and East Ascension squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Southside had to settle for second. They took a 61-42 bruising from the East Ascension Spartans. The Sharks' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Southside's loss dropped their record down to 27-17. As for East Ascension, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.
