The Homedale Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 44-29 fall against Weiser. Homedale lost against Weiser in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 45-37 score last time.
Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Olivia Asumendi, who scored nine points. Asumendi has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Arlett Quezada was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Homedale bumped their record down to 4-9 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Weiser, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Homedale will face off against Payette at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Payette is ranked 121st, while Homedale is ranked 119th). As for Weiser, they will head out on the road to face off against Parma at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
