After only 12 points in their last game, Douglas County West made sure to put some points up on the board against Arlington on Friday. Douglas County West claimed a resounding 46-12 victory over Arlington at home. With Douglas County West ahead 32-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Brady SInger was on fire: he rushed for 246 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. SInger was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards. Douglas County West also got help from Ryker Wohlers who showed off his sure hands for 103 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Broken Bow after they claimed the first score on Friday, but it was Gothenburg who ended up claiming the real prize. Broken Bow and Gothenburg were almost perfectly matched up, but Broken Bow suffered an agonizing 22-21 loss. Broken Bow has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Broken Bow's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Eli Coble, who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and Brice Chaplin who gained 110 total yards and two touchdowns.
Douglas County West is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. As for Broken Bow, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
