Even though the Joaquin Rams scored an imposing 55 points on Thursday, the Normangee Panthers still came out on top. Normangee took their matchup against Joaquin 65-55. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Normangee.
Normangee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Pj Edwards led the charge by dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was Edwards' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Kirven, who scored 16 points along with 6 steals.
Normangee's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Joaquin, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Normangee will square off against Wells at 9:20 a.m. on Friday. Wells is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Joaquin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Sabine at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
