Terrence Coleman Tops All Others This Week
Starting off the list is Maricopa's Terrence Coleman, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Coleman made five total tackles and defended a pass. Chanez Came Up Big in Tucson High Magnet School's 34-14 Victory
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday Noah Chanez stepped things up a notch to give Tucson High Magnet School the 'W'. Maricopa had no answer to Chanez as he rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also picked up 37 receiving yards.
Chanez is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Flowing Wells on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Chanez saw the Caballeros), he picked up 42 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 64 yards on only five carries.

Izaac Lopez Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Maricopa came up short on Friday despite Izaac Lopez delivering his best game to date. Lopez forced a fumble, made 14 total tackles, and defended a pass in addition to snagging an interception. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 5.7 total tackles per game. He is becoming a predictor of Maricopa's success: when he posts at least three total tackles the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't).

Liam Lewis' Rushing Yards a New Career-High
On Friday, Mountain View got the W thanks in part to Liam Lewis playing the best football he has all season. Lewis rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
