The Natchez Bulldogs will challenge the Wesson Cobras at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Natchez has given up an average of 10.4 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Natchez had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but North Pike put an end to it on Tuesday. Natchez came up short against North Pike, falling 11-1. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Chris Sewell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Four bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.
Meanwhile, Wesson got themselves on the board against Jefferson County on Tuesday, but Jefferson County never followed suit. They blew past the Tigers 18-0. The result was nothing new for the Cobras, who have now won five contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Baylor Smith was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aiden Wallace, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
Wesson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .583. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Wesson pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Natchez, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Natchez has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. However, it's not like Wesson struggles in that department as they've averaged .526. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
