Bethany Christian lost against Faith Baptist last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Bethany Christian was the victim of a tough 51-28 loss at the hands of Faith Baptist. While losing is never fun, Bethany Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 384th, while Faith Baptist is ranked 111th).
Leading Faith Baptist to victory were Bailey Burton and Amy Ahrens. Burton scored 15 points along with two steals, while Ahrens almost dropped a triple-double on 13 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. That's the first time this season that Burton scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Adams, who scored six points.
Bethany Christian's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4. As for Faith Baptist, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Bethany Christian the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Rochester Hills Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Faith Baptist, they will head out on the road to square off against Faith Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Faith Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
