The Monarch Coyotes are taking a road trip to take on the Denver South Ravens at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
On Saturday, Monarch came up short against Denver North and fell 10-5. The Coyotes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Max Webb put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs.

In other pitching news, Monarch got a good showing from Logan Uhlenhake, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Uhlenhake has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Charlie Pearce made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Blake Thompson, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Denver South lost 11-2 to Discovery Canyon on Saturday.
Ricardo Martinez was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Monarch's record now sits at 6-13. As for Denver South, their record is now 12-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Monarch has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Denver South struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Monarch took their win against Denver South when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 19-0 score. Will the Coyotes repeat their success, or do the Ravens have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
