Softball Recap: Ville Platte Takes a Loss

On Wednesday, the Ville Platte Bulldogs came up short against the Breaux Bridge Tigers and fell 12-9.

Laila Lewis and Janaih Leday stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lewis scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5, while Leday scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave Lewis a new career-high in hits. Jakiria Thomas also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Ville Platte's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Breaux Bridge, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.

We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. Elizabeth is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season. As for Breaux Bridge, they will head out on the road to challenge Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
