Terry Sanford has won seven straight games at home, while Jack Britt has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Saturday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Buccaneers at 1:00 p.m. Terry Sanford knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Jack Britt likes a good challenge.
On Thursday, Terry Sanford made easy work of Westover and carried off a 12-1 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Louis Smelcer made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Terry Sanford let Gibson Bray and Jesse Cortez run wild. Bray scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Cortez scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Jackson Van Wormer was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Terry Sanford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Jack Britt hadn't done well against Cape Fear recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Buccaneers never let the Colts get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Buccaneers have posted since February 28th.
Jack Britt has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Terry Sanford, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
Everything went Terry Sanford's way against Jack Britt in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, as Terry Sanford made off with a 12-6 win. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buccaneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
