The Lockport Lions were the 41-39 winner over the Nichols Vikings when they last played one another back in December of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. Lockport took a serious blow against Nichols on Friday, falling 62-17. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Lockport has scored all season.
Nichols' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madisen Wilson, who scored 25 points along with three steals. The contest was Wilson's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brianna Barr-Buday, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Lockport has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Nichols, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lockport will take on Charter School for Applied Tech at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Nichols, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Williamsville South at 6:30 p.m.
