The West Jessamine Colts will square off against the Corbin Redhounds at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Tuesday, West Jessamine made easy work of Burgin and carried off a 13-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Colts.

Hayden Peters looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, West Jessamine let Gabe Galus and Ryan Disponett run wild. Galus scored two runs while going 4-for-5, while Disponett went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two hits gave Disponett a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Head, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-5.
West Jessamine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Corbin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over Whitley County on Tuesday.
Kade Elam made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He has become a key player for Corbin: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise.
In other pitching news, Cruz Cima looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Corbin is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 6-7 otherwise.
Elam wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jaden Broughton, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Trey Person also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Corbin has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for West Jessamine, their win bumped their record up to 5-11-1.
Corbin's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. West Jessamine has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Corbin, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 strikeouts. Will West Jessamine keep running through batters, or will the Redhounds buck the trend?
West Jessamine was able to grind out a solid victory over Corbin in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 9-4. Do the Colts have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Redhounds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
