The Paramus Catholic Paladins had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 44-33 victory over Kennedy. That's another feather in the cap for Paramus Catholic, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
When it comes to explaining why Kennedy lost, one person who can't be blamed is My'Shayla Clancy. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Paramus Catholic's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Kennedy, they bumped their record down to 0-1 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paramus Catholic will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mount St. Dominic Academy at 12:00 p.m. on December 26th. As for Kennedy, they will head out on the road to face off against Wayne Hills at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
