The West Holmes Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight loss. They fell to Mt. Vernon 46-40. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Holmes in their matchups with Mt. Vernon: they've now lost four in a row.
West Holmes lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nate Fair, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Sprang, who scored nine points.
West Holmes struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-4) when they can't control their own glass like that.
West Holmes dropped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Mt. Vernon, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
West Holmes will head out on the road to square off against Tuslaw at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tuslaw is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Mt. Vernon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Olentangy Berlin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
