Air Academy got a great performance from Sam Brennan as he struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave Brennan a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sam Steubing, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Santiago Graniel, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Mead didn't have quite enough to beat University on Monday and fell 2-1.
Mead's defeat dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Air Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9-1.
