This season hasn't been kind to the Jackson Red Devils, who are still winless after their fifth matchup. They were the victim of a tough 50-28 loss at the hands of Griffin on Tuesday.
Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Janyla Lawrence, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ariyah Burke, who scored 9 points along with 8 rebounds.
Griffin found their leader in underclassman Naima Foster, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Camiya Starks, who scored 11 points.
Jackson's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Griffin, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jackson will take on Lamar County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Griffin will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Westside at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Westside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on December 6th.
