Last Tuesday, North Salem suffered a tough 69-49 defeat at the hands of Newberg.
Northwood has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 39 points or more this season. They really took it to Jordan-Matthews for the full four quarters, racking up a 79-19 victory on the road. Given Northwood's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Jordan-Matthews is ranked 396th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Drake Powell, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The matchup was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Leighton, who scored 16 points.
North Salem's loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-5. As for Northwood, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
