The Tempe Buffaloes suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 89-52 loss at the hands of Dysart. Tempe has struggled against Dysart recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Tempe still got an impressive performance from Nassir Cobbs, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Cobbs is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Alejandro Irizarry-Navarro, who scored nine points.
Dysart was led to victory by Nigel Anderson and Nate Morales. Anderson scored 18 points along with five assists and two steals, while Morales scored 20 points along with three steals. Anderson hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Zane Connelly, who scored 11 points along with six assists and two steals.
Tempe has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for Dysart, their win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tempe will take on Cortez at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cortez has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Dysart, they will play host again and welcome Apache Junction, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Apache Junction has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 5.
