The Broadwater Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 72 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 84-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jefferson. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Saturday (59), Broadwater still had to take the loss.
Hunter Stevens was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks for Jefferson. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for him. Marcus Lee was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Broadwater are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Jefferson, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broadwater will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
